DAS students must request to utilize accommodations each term through their DAS Student Portal account for accommodations to be implemented and for instructors to be properly notified. Students are encouraged to submit accommodations information into the DAS Student Portal as soon as possible after registering for courses each term. Please note: It may take 24-48 hours for your registered courses to appear in your DAS Student Portal. Accommodations requested for the current term after Friday of week 8 will be approved on a case-by-case basis. In general, accommodations requested within 10 days of the end of the term/session will not be approved.
Accommodations are typically not retroactive. Please see the following timeline for the minimum time requirements for specific accommodations.
If a request is submitted in the DAS Student Portal after the relevant deadline, reasonable efforts will be made by DAS and instructors to make arrangements for the accommodation. There is no guarantee that a late request will result in full implementation of the accommodation. Untimely requests may result in delays, substitutions, or denial of accommodations for the term.
Be sure to read DAS emails, weekly reminders, and agreements in order to utilize accommodations effectively (see Chapter 1 Rights and Responsibilities).
