Accessible audio/video are either transcripts of audio recordings or a captioned (verbatim) text overlay that plays with the video. In order to ensure that media is accessible for your classes, DAS will contact your faculty to start retrieving media for captioning, transcribing and/or describing.
The process of creating accessible media is very time consuming. Therefore, to ensure video, audio and/or descriptions will be accessible by the first day of the term, requests must be submitted as soon as you register for your classes.
You must notify Captioning Services immediately if a course is dropped.
For the Accessible Audio/Video request timeline, please refer to Chapter 4, Making Timely Requests for Accommodations.
For questions, students should contact the Assistive Technology Manager at 541-737-3666 (voice) or at firstname.lastname@example.org (email).
